April Test Drive Meme

Test Drive Meme
A quick rundown
Welcome to the S.S. Panic's Test Drive Meme! Here, you can post a top level post and/or respond to other characters in a variety of situations! As you will find if you glance at the map, the ship is a spider-shaped city that is essentially self-sustaining. It's powered by the Infinite Improbability Drive, which when in use allows for the improbable (and impossible!) to happen and become, well, possible!
Below, you will find an example of what a typical monthly job post will look like. To encourage tagging each other, characters who apply to the game after this test drive meme will earn 100 credits per tag they give to someone else. Considering that new refugees are only given a small amount of money to get them started (around 500 credits), this could be huge!
Normally, job posts (currently empty) will be posted on the last day of the month. Characters can begin working the jobs they sign up for on the 1st of the next month. These jobs will be posted early for the Test Drive Meme and can be considered the official jobs of the month.
For now, all jobs will be the lowest paying jobs at Level 5. As the months go on, Level 4, 3, 2 and 1 jobs will be added appropriately. All characters will begin at Level 5 except in very special, rare situations. Keep in mind that some jobs will remain a constant in job postings (Education, for example) while others will change monthly. Also, players may hire other characters themselves in the future through hiring page. Ordinarily, some jobs will have limited slots, but for the purposes of the Test Drive Meme, all jobs come equipped with unlimited slots.
Finally, if you choose to, you can make whatever happens during the Test Drive Meme game canon if you apply and you are accepted into the game. However, this is not required and if you don't want it to be canon but the players of your character's new CR do and vice versa, this is space with wormholes and the IID. Multiple instances of your character is possible, at least for this month.
If you have questions about how the game works, you can look at the gameplay page or post a question to the FAQ page. Remember, you don't have to post your character doing a job. You can have them arguing about the Babelfish, going shopping, having a fist fight with an alien, etc. The important thing is to have fun!

He nods, still grinning from ear to ear at his coworker]
But what about this one? [the next bottle he holds up is not glass at all. It's plastic, but it looks like glass. It's no wonder he is confused!]
no subject
...But a plastic bottle might just be the thing to smack him over the head with. He might not be able to resist after all.]
Ugh, we talked about this yesterday! See how it's kind of flimsy? It's plastic. You put plastic in the red bin.
[Before Jyushimatsu can do it himself, Killua snatches the bottle from his hands and tosses it into the bin himself.]
You haven't learned anything since you've been here, have you?
no subject
no subject
[Blunt. He can be honest too.]
And if you don't hurry it up, we'll be stuck here all night just like last time.
no subject
[to prove his point, Jyushimatsu takes a dive into the trash, like it's a pool. when he resurfaces, he's holding up a lamp] See? it's perfectly fine! We can still use it!
no subject
No way. Look, it's all bent in half and there are nails sticking out of it! There's no way it works!
no subject
I bet it does. The connections look fine. All we have to do is find a plug! And a light bulb! [and off he goes again, digging through the garbage. it's a game now.
you had one job, Jyushimatsu]
no subject
...Maybe I should just leave him in there.
[Closing the dumpster lid and walking away would be easy enough. Instead, while Jyushimatsu's busy digging through the garbage like some sort of deranged animal, Killua takes the lamp and hides it away before he can return. Whoops, it's gone!]
no subject
[probably for the best, because when Jyushi returns, he does not have a light bulb. he found a lampshade, though, it is on his head]
I don't think people throw away good bulbs! [really]
no subject
Of course not! Forget about the stupid lamp. Why don't you just go sit in the corner and play pretend or something?
[That's no way to talk to an adult, but c'mon, the guy's got a lampshade on his head.]
no subject
I'd rather play baseball... Hey! Wanna play baseball? [and just. ditch work, i guess] It's more fun to play with someone else!
no subject
Does it look like there's any baseball equipment here?
[...But that wasn't a no.]
no subject
[the lampshade comes off with a comical pop, and then Jyushimatsu tosses it into the correct pile. wow]
I have equipment! It's back in my room! [he's excited, because Killua didn't outright scold him, or refuse. he's just a bit prickly, like Ichimatsu-niisan, but Jyushi could see past that. there was a fun kid under there, somewhere! maybe! he climbs out of the dumpster and shakes off like a dog] I have a bat, and a mitt, and a ball!
no subject
Turning his sour gaze from Jyushi to the clock on the far wall, Killua's... actually considering it. It's terrifying what you'll consider doing when you're bored enough.]
Fine, fine! But our shift isn't over yet, you know. If you can sort 3 more things into the correct bins, I'll play with you, alright?
[He's probably wasting his efforts here, but maybe baseball will be enough to motivate this dope into doing his job properly. One can only hope.
Before stepping out of the dumpster himself, Killua hands Jyushi 3 bottles– a clear and a colored glass bottle and a plastic bottle.]
Here. Don't take all night.
no subject
[oh, Killua, you said the magic words! you made it a game! Jyushi actually calms down for a moment, to stare at the three bottles very seriously.
he grabs the plastic bottle first] Here's the wind up... [and tosses it into the plastic pile] And the pitch! It's good!
[then he takes the two glass bottles and carefully puts them in the glass pile, no throwing. yay!]
no subject
[Were it anyone else, this wouldn't be an occasion to get excited over, but his co-worker isn't just anyone. Killua won't get too ahead of himself, but it looks like he's finally found a way to get this guy to do his damn job properly. That's good news for them both.]
I guess you're not that hopeless after all.
[Shrugging of his work coveralls, Killua leaves them perched on the side of the dumpster. Hopefully this guy's as good at baseball as he is throwing bottles into bins.]
Alright, I guess I owe you a round or two now. I'll follow you.
no subject
[he's not hopeless! yay! Jyushimatsu raises his fists above his head triumphantly] Yeah! Baseball!
[oh, probably should take off his coveralls, too, right? Jyushi discards them quickly, balling them up and tossing them against the dumpster. he'll get them later. right now, it's playtime, and he's already leading the way back to the residential area]
no subject
Killua follows some ways behind Jiyushi, hands tucked into his pockets as they wind their way through the residential district.]
I'm only gonna play a round or two, got it? Don't get your hopes up.
[If he gives Jiyushi too much of his attention in one night, how will he motivate him for work tomorrow? Surely he'd get bored of playing baseball eventually.]
